£30M Broomhill Sands Flood Defence Scheme Opens

One of the largest flood defence schemes ever constructed in the South East has been opened officially.

The £30 million Broomhill Sands project is designed to protect homes lying in flood risk areas between Camber Sands and Jury’s Gap.

According to the Environment Agency, the completed project will reduce the flood risk for 14,500 homes, businesses, a nuclear power station, significant areas of designated habitat and two Ministry of Defence firing ranges.
