2025 Growth at Ellicott Dredge Enterprises

Posted on August 10, 2025

Over the last year, Ellicott Dredge Enterprises, “Ellicott” has quietly been transforming and with the word growth emerging as a common theme across the business – in every department and operating location. Since the first of the year, Ellicott has been adding to the team across the board. Changemakers have joined the company in every department: Operations; Warehouse; Engineering; Field Service; Sales; and Finance – Ellicott is hiring.

With four-industry leading brands, supplying auger and cutter suction dredges around the world, it goes without saying that the need to grow the Ellicott team has been driven by high demand for Ellicott®, Mud Cat®, IMS®, and GeoPool® equipment. The robust, high-quality dredges our customers expect are the result of our passionate team, who thrive on challenges while building the world’s best dredges.

The number of truckloads leaving Baltimore and New Richmond is a testament to the hard work being done at EDE – over 90 truckloads have shipped to customers in 2025. These shipments have included standard and custom dredges of every model size offered by Ellicott’s brands. Deliveries have been made to customers both domestically and internationally.

Upgrades to Dredge Building Capacity

Our commitment to world-class dredge manufacturing is fundamental to our operations. As an established dredge builder with vertically integrated facilities in Baltimore, Maryland, and New Richmond, Wisconsin, Ellicott has significantly invested in both locations this year. Product Innovation

For many years the Ellicott® Series 1870 Dragon® dredge has lead the industry as the largest 20-inch (500 mm) dredge on the market, renowned for its robust construction and longevity. While the 1870’s unique abilities evolved over time, this year Ellicott began the next phase of the dredge’s transformation – the 1870 Generation 2 (G2). The 1870G2 boasts an updated modern control stand and operator cabin. Its pontoons have been increased in size to operate in heavier seas while maintaining its crew friendly stable platform.
