Today Van Oord, being part of the Van Oord-Hellenic Cables consortium, conducted final tests with the Deep Dig-It in the Alexiahaven (Rotterdam). The Deep Dig-It trencher is a gigantic and remotely controlled trencher designed and built for the Hollandse Kust (South) project. TenneT is building the Hollandse Kust (South) offshore grid to the north of the Maasvlakte, to connect new wind farms. Van Oord designed and built the Deep Dig-It trencher for this project.
