China’s home-grown dredging vessel wraps up trial voyage

GUANGDONG, May 2 (Xinhua) — A Chinese-developed dredging vessel wrapped up its three-day trial voyage on Friday.

The 148-meter-long, 29-meter-wide vessel, named Hao Hai Long, can dig as deep as 38 meters under the sea floor with a total installed capacity of 25,260 kilowatts. It was built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co. Ltd.

The vessel is capable of mud-dredging, bedrock-digging and sand-digging, suitable for dredging and reclamation projects in coastal waters, ports and waterways.
